THEATER MEMBERS - $10.00
Recommended Age 18+
Rolling Stone called what they do "inspired,
lunatic brilliance". Jazz Review describes them as
"an audacious, genre-defying national treasure!" The Asylum
Street Spankers are masters of dozens of instruments, adept
arrangers and songwriters. They're also brilliant interpreters of
Golden Age Americana, spiced with right-on influences from their
own era, performed with a ripping sense of humor, often with pointed
social and cultural commentary, that creates unbridled fun and merriment.
Defiantly acoustic, fiercely independent and absurdly good, the
Spankers are an internationally reknowned underground institution.
You'll be charmed & amused with the exuberant
old-Timey American music of The Wiyos. Inspired
by the early American musical idioms of the '20s & '30s, they
subvert genre distinctions with their unique instrumentation &
harmonies. The Wiyos create a visual spectacle in the tradition
of vaudeville-esque performers with on-stage physical comedy recalling
the silent films of Laurel & Hardy, Keaton and Chaplin.

6:00pm SHOW JUST ADDED!!!
Gallagher's "no sledge" show incorporates
intelligent social and political commentary as only he can deliver.
Add to this a plethora of oddball props and you have the ingredients
of one of the most calculating performers in the entertainment world.
More than any other comic, Gallagher is best known for his 16 audacious
cable specials with titles like "Uncensored Evening",
Too Real", "Mad As Hell", "Totally New",
"That's Stupid", "Stuck in the 60's", "The
Maddest", "The Bookkeeper", "Over Your Head",
"Overboard", "The Leap Year Marathon" "Melon
Crazy", and "We Need a Hero". Fans always get more
than their money's worth, Gallagher gives 110%, posing for pictures
and signing autographs. Flash photography is allowed and encouraged!
Best known for wielding his trademark Sledge-O-Matic,
Gallagher showers his audience with pulverized
remains of various items (edible & otherwise) especially watermelon.
If you want to sit in the Splatt Zone - cabaret through first half
of theater – show up Gallagherized with protection, such as
plastic sheeting, raincoats, goggles, sunglasses & windshield
wipers. Gallagher's comedy is much more than outrageous stunts &
hilarious props as he's a keen observer of human nature & the
American scene and has been featured on several Showtime Specials
now shown on Comedy Central.
We strongly suggest sitting in the back half of
the theater unless you want to get spewed; 18+ recommended for adult
content and flash photography is permitted (although we're not responsible
for camera damage)
